What is the BRIDGEGAP DataHub?

The DataHub is a consolidated platform of all current databases used for research in the BRIDGEGAP project, pooled by 15 academic organisations at country level, covering 40 countries, including EU Member States and accession countries. The data is arranged in accordance with an analytical framework developed in the scope of BRIDGEGAP, the EU Compass, which - inspired by the UNODC Statistical Framework model - pools data at national level.

How does it work?

According to BRIDGEGAP’s analytical framework, control of corruption is the capacity of a society to constrain public authorities to act for general social welfare and not for the particular benefit of private individuals, groups or networks connected to the office holders. Control of corruption results from a balance between opportunities for corruption and constraints, posed by societies and states, proxied here as parts of a public integrity framework consisting of:
