Transparency International initiatives on natural resource management
Transparency International has three programmes addressing various aspects of natural resource management: climate, land and mining.
All of these sectors involve huge amounts of money being invested into projects carried out in remote areas where people rely on their natural environment for survival. All have problems in terms of the governance of the money, with huge gaps in terms of how those people being most impacted are engaged in decision making processes about how the money is spent.
