Sebastian Wegner is Senior Policy Coordinator for Anti-Corruption and Good Governance projects at the HUMBOLDT-VIADRINA Governance Platform. He joined the team in May 2015.
Sebastian is an economist with several years of experience working in the areas of anti-corruption, corporate compliance, corporate governance and transparency, incl. beneficial ownership transparency. He has special expertise in conceptualizing and implementing multi-stakeholder initiatives as well as advocacy and country assessment tools.
He has worked in Nigeria to establish a corporate governance rating system. Further, he has contributed to setting up global multi-stakeholder initiatives such as piloting the Alliance for Integrity in India, conceptualizing Transparency International’s BICA – Business Integrity Country Agenda and currently the Fisheries Transparency Initiative as well as Climate Transparency.
Prior to joining the Platform, Sebastian worked for over three years for the HUMBOLDT-VIADRINA School of Governance under the Siemens Integrity Initiative on a project on anti-corruption incentives and sanctions for business, and as a freelancer for Convention on Business Integrity, Deutsches Global Compact Netzwerk, GIZ / Alliance for Integrity, Transparency International and the World Bank Group
